Folly Beach + Floral Skirt

April 15, 2019

Our favorite part about living on James Island is being so close to the ocean. I spent an afternoon with Harper on Folly Beach. This kid brightens up my darkest hours, loves me unconditionally, and makes me laugh every single day.

Fun fact: Folly Beach is a barrier island off the coast of Charleston, South Carolina — the locals call it the “Edge of America.”

This year the weather in Charleston has been C-R-A-Z-Y. The amount of random cold fronts has been absurd. I am not a fan. I pretty much hate cold weather and Harper hates cold weather even more than I do (i’ve trained him well). When we went to take these photos with one of my favorite Charleston photographers, Kailee, we had to throw on some warmer clothes. I decided to go with this Mara Hoffman maxi skirt. It is a showstopper. If I wear it out, I get nonstop compliments. The vibrant floral pattern is so fun. I paired it with this amazing black bodysuit. You can also dress is down with a white casual top or tank. You can find the skirt HERE. Honestly. it is pretty pricey. If you don’t want to spend the money on purchasing the skirt, you can actually RENT it HERE! I rent most of my expensive clothes. I only get one wear out of most outfits so it makes much more economic sense for me to rent them.

My bag is from Emily McCarthy and it could not be any more perfect! The Avery Canvas Jumbo Tote is made from a thick canvas but treated to be antimicrobial and stain resistant. It has a flat, reinforced bottom to keep all your stuff nice and organized. It also features a zippered closure, removable shoulder strap and zippered inside pocket. It comes in navy, pink, or black. This neon pink is literally the exact color I was hoping for. I decided to add the gold monogram to the front and I just think it is the cutest bag I have ever seen.
