Weekly Home Decor Finds

January 22, 2021

Home decor and interior design has always been one of my passions, and it’s one that y’all love, too! We recently bought a historic home in Greensboro, NC – built in 1914! – and begin renovations on it this week. In honor of the new project, this space is probably going to be mainly focused on the renovation and other home decor inspiration. Since I’m always sharing my favorite finds and tips on Instagram already, I thought I would start sharing this weekly home decor round up on my blog! (Clever name suggestions are welcome!)

The items here range from great deals to slight splurges, and there’s sure to be something for any kind of interior design style you prefer.

This week, I’m focusing on some tried-and-true staples in my house – natural textures and detailed patterns. As always, I’m including where you can find these pieces and their prices, complete with a link so you can purchase them yourselves!

Handmade Rattan Round Fruit Basket with Wavy Edge, 3 piece set (Amazon, $42)

These baskets put the fun back in functional! Gone are the straight edges and boxy silhouettes of ultra-modern, minimalist design. These rattan fruit baskets have a wavy edge that’s just begging you to see what kind of treasures the baskets hold! You can, of course, use the baskets as intended for fruit, but they would also work well as coffee table or bookshelf styling decor. The 3-piece set comes with three baskets of different sizes, or you can purchase just one size, or a 2-piece set instead.

Round Bamboo Woven Bowl in Natural (Target, $25)

Another gorgeous textured bowl! This woven bowl is part of Studio McGee’s home decor collection with Target. The husband and wife team behind Studio McGee has been making their names in the interior design world for a while, but blasted into popular recognition with the premiere of their Netflix show, Dream Home Makeover, in 2020. This bowl is the perfect accent for any living space, and could be either beachy or boho depending on your own individual style!

Brooklyn Floor Boxwood Topiary (Wayfair, $189)

Who else tried to become an expert gardener during 2020? I’ve always loved growing and taking care of plants, but sometimes it just gets to be a little too much. That’s where faux plants like this come in! Especially for such important real estate like as front porch decor, no one wants to see droopy and brown greenery. These faux boxwood topiaries are 5-feet tall, with a triple ball design that looks so elegant. Plus, the topiary is ideally suited for outdoors, with a weighted base to protect it from toppling over in the wind and UV-protected greenery – no fading here! Add your favorite pot and you’ve got some exterior (or interior) decor that will brighten up your space in no time!

Artificial Moss Wood Plant Arrangement (Target, $35)

Another faux plant and another Target Studio McGee find! Hint: I turn to Target for a lot of my faux greenery! I’ve used their plants and trees in other spaces around my house, like in Harper’s bedroom and on my shelves. But this artificial moss is unlike anything I’ve seen before! I think it would be the perfect addition to a shelf you’re trying to style, since it takes up less vertical space than many other greenery options. There’s also something about moss that’s just so much more earthy and grounded. The white wood bowl has a gorgeous texture while being neutral enough to fit with any decor style.

Wicker Ginger Jars (Sea Marie Designs, $110 – $155)

Wicker ginger jars combine two of my all-time favorite decor pieces: the natural wicker texture and ginger jars! If you love the timeless shape of ginger jars but don’t love the traditional chinoiserie patterns, this wicker option may be perfect for you. They come in three different sizes and would look great on their own or paired together! I also love the entire Sea Marie Designs Online Boutique, which curates an amazing selection of coastal-inspired home decor. It’s so great to be able to support small and independent businesses!

Black Wood and Cane Back Fynn Dining Armchair (World Market, $280)

If you don’t shop at World Market for furniture and home decor, you’re missing out! I love finding the most unique and gorgeous finds here, like these Black Wood and Cane Back Fynn Dining Armchairs. Featuring a natural cane seat back, gold-tipped legs, and a contrasting black wood frame, the Fynn dining chair is the perfect mix between modern and traditional. With a cushioned seat and the style of an armchair, you can say goodbye to stiff and uncomfortable dining room seating!

Violet Table Lamps (One Kings Lane, $169)

I am all about interesting lamp bases these days! Lighting is such an important part of any interior design, so you may as well make it intricate and conversation-starting! The Violet Table Lamps from One Kings Lane accomplish just that. Tropical looking leaves in pristine white add texture without drawing too much attention, and the gold-leaf accents add just a touch of luxe. I also think they’re reminiscent of pineapples, which of course appeals to the Charlestonian in me! The lamps come in a set of 2 with white cotton lampshades, but you can always switch out the shades if you’re looking for something a bit more vibrant.

Hampton Chandelier, Gold (One Kings Lane, $655)

I am absolutely in love with this dramatic, gold chandelier. Chandelier styles have gotten major upgrades in the last several years, and I’m so here for it! The Hampton Chandelier is perfect for dining spaces that might not have as much vertical room, as it hangs rather close to the ceiling compared to other chandelier styles. Again, you’ll see I’m drawn to the leaf-like texture that makes up this light fixture! I just think it’s so elegant and unique, the perfect accent to a dining space.

Blue Provencial Print Wastepaper Basket (Amazon, $100)

Did someone say a ginger jar trash can? Okay, so it’s not exactly the same, but I adore the delicate pattern on this wastepaper basket. Who would’ve thought that your trash can could make a statement about your interior design?! But in all seriousness, don’t get stuck with the same 5 basic trash can options you could find in any Bed Bath & Beyond (or similar). This wastepaper basket is an amazing way to add a pop of color and pattern to your space while remaining uber functional.

Lawrence Home Picture Frame, 8×10, Gold (Amazon, $30)

A good frame can make all the difference when you’re adding art to a wall or a shelf. Amazon and Target are two of my go-to’s when I need a good, basic frame, and this time, Amazon blew it out of the water! This gold picture frame from Lawrence Home is absolutely gorgeous, with a bamboo-like texture that looks so much fancier than the price would indicate. These frames also come in smaller sizes, so you could pick up a couple for a unified mix-and-match look!

Godinger Bedside Night Carafe (Amazon, $21)

One of the first rooms we’re tackling in our new home is the guest bedroom, and I want to turn it into such a relaxing and luxurious space for our guests! I asked you on Instagram what you thought I should include in a guest bedroom and got so many incredible responses. One of the suggestions I got a lot included having water available, and I love the idea of having an elegant carafe like this one. The crystal carafe’s topper doubles as a glass, making it super easy to have a drink of water in the middle of the night without even having to leave your bed. Plus, with the crystal’s intricate design, it turns the most basic activity into a luxurious act!

Oriental Furniture 16” Ladies Blue & White Porcelain Fishbowl (Amazon, $149)

This fine Chinese porcelain jardiniere was originally used to display lucky gold fish and koi in Ming dynasty era China. Now, it can be used as an elegant planter for trees or plants. I can just imagine it with the faux topiary from earlier on this list and it would be so gorgeous! The traditional blue and white design is intricate and classic, and you can also purchase a pot in smaller sizes to find the right fit for your space!
